Tere Paas Aa Ke Mera Waqt Guzar Jaata Hai

Mala Sinha, the gorgeous damsel and the He-man of Hindi cinema come together once again for this one. This film had some of the most beautiful songs and you can see why. My favorite ones are "aap ko pyaar chhupaane ki buri aadat hai" and this one.

And I just realized we are one week away from Rafi sahab's 85th birthday... May God bless him wherever he is with peace and bliss.

Enjoy this beautiful melody by the most hit pair of singers in HFM.

M: tere paas aa ke mera waqt guzar jaata hai (2)
do ghadi ke liye ghum jaane kidhar jaata hai

F: jab kabhi door se tu mujhko nazar aata hai
pyaar hans kar meri aankhon me sanwar jaata hai
Both: tere paas aa ke mera waqt guzar jaata hai

F: tu wohi hai jisse is dil ne sadaayen dee hai (2)
tu wohi hai jise nazron ne duaayein dee hai
tu wohi hai ke jo dil le ke mukar jaata hai

F: do ghadi ke liye ghum jaane kidhar jaata hai
Both: tere paas aa ke mera waqt guzar jaata hai

M: jaam itne teri masti bhari aankhon se piye... haan
jaam itne teri masti bhari aankhon se piye
bekhudi mein tujhe sajde meri nazron ne kiye
tere jalwon mein khuda mujhko nazar aata hai

F: pyaar hans ke meri aankhon me sanwar jaata hai
Both: tere paas aa ke mera waqt guzar jaata hai

F: teri yaad aate hi ghabra ke chali aati hoon (2)
main har ek qaid ko thukra ke chali aati hoon
main nahin aati mujhe pyaar idhar laata hai
pyaar hans kar meri aankhon me sanwar jaata hai

M: do ghadi ke liye ghum jaane kidhar jaata hai
Both: tere paas aa ke mera waqt guzar jaata hai

Waho Waho Gobind Singh Aape Gur Chela

Today, while listening to Bay Area Third Eye, I got to listen to this shabad (I think that's what it's called) and I completely got addicted to it. It's very pleasant to listen to and makes one feel at peace. Enjoy!

Jaane Woh Kaise Log The...

The first time I had heard this song was when I was a kid. Mom used to hum these classics so often then that I just thought that these were actually songs of hers and not movie songs. Later on when I learnt what movies were, I realized these were actually immortal songs made by some crazily creative folks. Reading about it and listening to it on Anaamica's blog made me realize once again what a beautiful song it actually is. I just had to post it. Mindblowing lyrics!

jaane woh kaise log the jinke pyaar ko pyaar milaa
humne to jab kaliyaan maangi kaanton kaa haar milaa
jaane woh kaise log the jinke pyaar ko pyaar milaa

khushiyon ki manzil dhoondhi to gham ki gard mili (2)
chaahat ke naghame chaahe to aanhen sard mili
dil ke bojh ko dhundhalaa kar gayaa jo ghamkhaar milaa
humne to jab kaliyaan maangi kaanton kaa haar milaa
jaane woh kaise log the jinke pyaar ko pyaar milaa

bichhad gayaa (2)
bichhad gayaa har saathi de kar pal do pal kaa saath
kis ko fursat hai jo thaame deewaanon kaa haath
hum ko apnaa saayaa tak aksar bezaar milaa
humne to jab kaliyaan maangi kaanton kaa haar milaa
jaane woh kaise log the jinke pyaar ko pyaar milaa

isko hi jeenaa kehte hai to yoon hi jee lenge (2)
uff na karenge lab see lenge aansoo pee lenge
gham se ab ghabaraanaa kaisaa gham sau baar milaa
humne to jab kaliyaan maangi kaanton kaa haar milaa
jaane woh kaise log the jinke pyaar ko pyaar milaa

Aage Bhi Jaane Na Tu...

(aage bhi jaane na tu peechhe bhi jaane na tu
jo bhi hai bas yehi ek pal hai)(2)
aage bhi jaane na tu

anjaane saayo ka raahon mein dera hai
andekhi baahon ne hum sab ko chheda hai
yeh pal ujaala hai baaki andhera hai
yeh pal ganwaana na yeh pal hi tera hai
jeene waale soch le yehi waqt hai kar le poori aarzoo
aage bhi jaane na tu peechhe bhi jaane na tu
jo bhi hai bas yehi ek pal hai

is pal ke jalwo ne mehfil sanvaari hai
is pal ki garmi ne dhadkan ukhaadi hai
is pal ke hone se duniya hamaari hai
yeh pal jo dekho to sadiyon pe bhaari hai
jeene waale soch le yehi waqt hai kar le poori aarzoo
aage bhi jaane na tu peechhe bhi jaane na tu
jo bhi hai bas yehi ek pal hai
aage bhi jaane na tu

la la la... la la la la la...
la la la... la la la la la...
la la la... la la... la la la... la la la la la...

is pal ke saaye mein apna thikana hai
is pal ke aage ki har shay fasaana kai
kal kisne dekha hai kal kisne janaa hai
is pal se paayega jo tujko paanaa hai
jeene waale soch le yehi waqt hai kar le poori aarzoo
aage bhi jaane na tu peechhe bhi jaane na tu
jo bhi hai bas yehi ek pal hai
aage bhi jaane na tu

Aaja Sanam Madhur Chaandni Mein Hum

Evergreen! That's the category of this one. The song still sounds brand new after more than half a century and people can still relate to it.

Again, one of those first few songs I listened to as kid and have ever lasting memories attached with it - the old cassette player with loose plug that needed extra support to stay in the plug socket and the tape lid that needed something heavy to be placed on top so the two little groovy holes on tape actually fit into the two revolving screw-like knobs in the player. It was an old family tape player that just sat around and I got to play it around as no one used it. All I had back then was a couple of dusty audio tapes with scratched labels and no clue what was in them. I was just fascinated with the whole mechanism of switches and tape and the music that came out of it... it is only now that I actually realize that it was because of Lataji's and Mannada's lovely voices and SJ's music that did the trick. I had no clue about what the lyrics meant... I still remember thinking that lyricist Shailendra was talking about the garment "lungi" when he wrote "dam bhar jo udhar mooh phere..." :P How silly I was! This one took me back to those childhood days.

I can't stand Raj Kapoor and totally adore Nargis, but still think they made a great pair on silver screen. Hasrat Jaipuri's lyrics just get better and better as I discover/realize how good his work has been.

F: aaja sanam madhur chaandni mein hum tum
mile to veeraane mein bhi aa jaayegi bahaar
jhoomne lagega aasmaan (2)

kehta hai dil aur machalta hai dil
more saajan le chal mujhe taaron ke paar
lagta nahin hai dil yahaan (2)

M: bheegi bheegi raat mein dil ka daaman thaam le
khoyi khoyi zindagi har dum tera naam le

F: (chaand ki behki nazar keh rahi hai pyaar kar
zindagi hai ek safar kaun jaane kal kidhar) (2)

M: aaja sanam madhur chaandni mein hum tum
mile to veeraane mein bhi aa jaayegi bahaar
jhoomne lagega aasmaan (2)

F: kehta hai dil aur machalta hai dil
more saajan le chal mujhe taaron ke paar
lagta nahin hai dil yahaan (2)

M: dil yeh chaahe aaj to baadal ban ud jaau main
dulhan jaisa aasmaan dharti par le aau main

F: (chaand ka dola saje dhoom taaron mein mache
jhoom ke duniya kahe pyaar mein do dil mile) (2)

Both: aaja sanam madhur chaandni mein hum tum
mile to veeraane mein bhi aa jaayegi bahaar
jhoomne lagega aasmaan (2)

F: kehta hai dil aur machalta hai dil
more saajan le chal mujhe taaron ke paar
lagta nahin hai dil yahaan (2)
