Flute in the beginning when the plane flies makes every single hair on my body stand up with excitement and happiness that can not be described! I haven't been able to pick and choose my most favorite song from Veer Zaara and that's because most of them are my favorite ones. This one being one of them. It's so utterly beautiful in music, lyrics, and everything else including picturization.

The first time I had heard this one was during the SaReGaMaPa days in 2007. I kind of got annoyed with Himesh and didn't really listen to it with so much interest back then. After all these years, I got to listen to it again and I realized how beautiful this song is, not just the lyrics but the singing and music too. Love those tabla that play in the background. Wow!! Totally *mindblowing*

And now I love it so much, I can't stop listening to it. What a heart rendering and meaningful song...

Would you believe that this song actually came out 13 years ago? Yes, indeed! And it just feels like yesterday that I listened to it for the first time and went crazy for Sonu Nigam's singing. What a beautifully sung song and what gorgeous music... it is one of those movies with quality music and songs that remains fresh in your heart and you actually remember every single word of the song because it was worth it. Anu Malik's evergreen music and Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik's singing take the cake. Not to forget so very young and so simple as in almost bling-free and still beautiful Abhishek and Kareena and the acting that earned them accolades.

Javed Akhtar is the king of romance, in my view. What great lyrics has he penned... It's amazing!

After I read about this film on here, here and here and after reading the recent interview of Clinton Cerejo on the Drift, I just had to listen to the songs. Also hoping I will get to watch it soon.

So since last couple of days it's been Rocking on my speakers. Different kind of album this one is. It makes me want to listen to the whole album live with the band. That would be simply awesome! One of the songs that I enjoy watching more than just listening to it. Deepti Naval has a very beautiful smile. Tere Liye Hum Hai Jiye

This has been probably the most famous song of the film and the best one in a long long time. It is the kind of song that will sound more melodious as decades pass.

We were all listening to all of these Veer Zaara songs together. That's when I asked Papu whether he liked this one the best and he said no. He likes "do pal ruka khwaabon ka caravan..." better. I too like that one a lot, but for me both of these song come at number one. Then again I am more partial towards Sonu's singing in "do pal". While we were talking I said that Roop Kumar Rathod has also done a fantastic job in singing (Lataji's singing is out of the question here) and he's probably the best choice, but to my surprise he disagreed. So then I asked who he thought could have done a better justice to the song. His said Kishore Kumar. I was quite surprised at that. :) I thought he'd have said Rafi but he didn't. It's not that I don't like Kishore Kumar but I haven't heard that many songs of him while growing up and since at home we had more music of Rafi sahab, I ended up listening to that only, and that "growing up" part has deeper connection so I tend to listen to those songs more often than any other ones.

After that chit-chat I shared my wild ideas with everyone about how I wished there was a gadget that would let us put in a voice of a person somehow and out comes a different song that we want any song that we want (depending upon the input parameters, of course) in that singer's voice. Aaah! what a miracle that would be. The answer I got was "if you can think of it, may be some day it will exist". I wish a gadget like that comes to existence someday... :D

As for this song, the less we say the better. It can't be said actually, I feel.

Yeh Safar Bahot Hai Kathin Magar

RD Burman music always has his special signature on it. This one is the same. You can tell it has that 1942 A Love Story flavor to it. I think it's one of the less famous songs of the film. I had not come across it until this year when I heard a couple of lines of it accidently and then I started hunting for it online and realized it's more than a decade old song. Adore the lyrics of Javed Akhtar as usual. The dude is way too talented and can pen the most heartfelt feelings. First time I heard a song of Shivaji Chattopadhyay. Will have to listen to his other songs to find out whether he is actually a good singer. I felt he could have done a better job in singing this one though. His voice when he sings the sheyr in the beginning sounds wee bit like to Jagjit Singh but definitely not later on. I enjoy listening to the song nevertheless.

The first thing you notice about this Latin style dance number is its catchy tune and if you're watching it... you just keep watching Abhay Deol and Minissha Lamba dancing away their tango style dance. What a fantastic song! Vishal Shekhar have done awesome job in bringing that charm to the song with their music. I'm becoming their bigger fan with each song I hear of theirs. Sunidhi is simply superb! It's fashion out there to compose songs that are her style, hit style. What was like icing on the cake was to hear Reecha Tripathi of Canada on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007 sing this song with such ease. She's truely done justice to the song. Hopefully we will get to hear more of her and more of such sweet numbers from Vishal Shekhar as they gain more and more popularity among fans.
