Mohabbat Aisi Dhadkan Hai

Does it happen with you that you hear a song somewhere that you've never listened to before and then it just stays in your memory until you actually make an attempt to listen to it? This is one of those songs. I have no idea where I heard it first but it just got imprinted in memory... until today. One of the oldies by Lata ji where she sounds so different than her usual self. I guess this was the time when singers like Shamshad Begum ruled the HFM and everyone tried to be like that. I do like her as well but just something I noticed that how Lata ji changed her style of singing with time and I am glad she did.

Yet again I become a fan of Hasrat ji's lyrics, they're so beautiful and same with C. Ramchandra's music. Lovely song that is created by the hard work of all of these artists and many more behind the screen.

Listening to Meena Kumar songs on Atul's blog took me back to this one again. Last year, accidentally, when I caught a glimpse of ATMJH episide on TV Asia, this song was playing on there and I truly enjoyed watching it on screen. I remember writing it down along with the film name in case I forget it. Also bought the VCD of the film when I was in India early this year. Now is the hard part.. to find time to watch it. Some day.. .I hope I will get to. Until then do enjoy the song!

Yeh Zindagi Usi Ki Hai

After listening to this song again today, I feel these people must come from some other divine world.

I don’t have words to describe this song - the voice, the music, the emotions, the instruments playing, the words.

It is when I listen to songs like this I want to thank God for this life, for giving me an ability to understand the emotions conveyed by these songs, and for making me exist on this earth in the times when these people exist. I feel so blessed.

Wafaa Ke Deep Jalaaye... Sau Baar Janam Lenge

I still remember the first time I had heard this one years ago with Papu we were listening to Rafi songs in our collection as usual.

Thanks to Pradeep & Priya for all those "Rafi Ka Jaadu" programs. I've been listening to the old recordings from 2004. Listened to this one again on one of the clips. The music and Rafi sahab's voice is out of the world. As Pradeep would say, his voice is sweet as honey.

And today, while searching for the video of it, I got to listen to the couplet in the beginning of the song. What emotional words penned by Asad Bhopali. Love the waterfalls, river, trees. Such sharp features Shakila has, gorgeous!
