Tumhi Dekho Na...

A beautiful song with lovely lyrics and tunes. Yet another Sonu-Alka duet but they truly make it unique and it makes me want to listen to it again and again. Rani looks really pretty in saaris. :)

M: tumhi dekho na yeh kya ho gayaa
tumhaara hoon main aur tum meri
F: main hairaan hoon tumhe kya kahoon
ke din mein hui kaisi chaandni
M: jaagi jaagi si hai
phir bhi khwaabon mein hai
khoyi khoyi zindagi
F: tumhi dekho na yeh kya ho gayaa
M: tumhaara hoon main aur tum meri

M: behke behke se mann mehke mehke se tan
ujhali ujhali fizaaon mein hai

F: aaj hum hai jahaan kitni rangeeniyan
chhalki chhalki nigaahon mein hai

M: neeli neeli ghataaon se hai chal rahi
halki halki roshani

F: tumhi dekho na yeh kya ho gayaa
M: tumhaara hoon main aur tum meri
F: main hairaan hoon tumhe kya kahoon
ke din mein hui kaisi chaandni

F: main to anjaan thi yoon bhi hoga kabhi
pyaar barsega yoon toot ke

M: ho sach yeh iqraar hai
F: aa
M: sach yehi pyaar hai
baaki bandhan hai sab jhooth ke
F: aa... aa... aa...
meri saanson mein hai ghul rahi pyaar ki
dheemi dheemi raagini

M: tumhi dekho na yeh kya ho gayaa
tumhaara hoon main aur tum meri
F: main hairaan hoon tumhe kya kahoon
ke din mein hui kaisi chaandni
M: jaagi jaagi si hai
phir bhi khwaabon mein hai
khoyi khoyi zindagi

Welcome back from hiding (aka, couldn't access your blog for a long time). Happy 2010!

The song's very good of course - do feel like listening to it often. I didn't think of it as highly as "Mitwa" the first time I heard it. The song grew quietly on me though.

About Rani in a saree .. well, she's pretty but I'd reserve my accolades for her costumes in the song "Suna na Suno na" from Chalte Chalte.

Java, thanks, and a happy 2010 to you! You won't believe but I also actually liked "mitva.." a lot better than this one until actually I just started humming this one out of no where one day, only to realize this one is the kind that sticks in the memory than the others. It's kind of like the oldies, meaningful lyrics and nice music to go with it.

Speaking of Rani's costumes, I just adore her in salwaars, long skirts and saaris. Like the ones she wears in Bunty & Babli, Saathiya and Baadal.
