Har taraf ab yehi afsaane hai...

I wanted to post this one since a few days since Rajani requested it.

What I like the most about this one is the lyrics. So full of feelings and have such a divine description... Mannada's voice is soulful. I also had a wonderful time watching Raj Kumar in it. Wish it was someone else other than Priya Rajvansh. I don't know why they kept bringing these two in movies together. She must know some big shots to be in so many movies. ;)

The song is beautiful one. Thanks, Rajani, for introducing me to this gem. Please do suggest more of your favorite ones.

har taraf ab yehi afsaane hai (2)
hum teri aankhon ke deewaane hai (2)
har taraf ab yehi afsaane hai (2)

itni sacchaai hai in aankhon mein
khote sikke bhi khare ho jaaye
tu kabhi pyaar se dekhe jo udhar
sukhe jangal bhi hare ho jaaye
baag ban jaaye (2) jo veeraane hai
hum teri aankhon ke deewaane hai
har taraf ab yehi afsaane hai

ek halkaa saa ishaaraa in kaa
kabhi dil aur kabhi jaan lootegaa
kis tarah pyaas bujhegi us ki
kis tarah us kaa nashaa tootegaa
jiski kismat mein (2) yeh paimaane hai
hum teri aankhon ke deewaane hai
har taraf ab yehi afsaane hai

neechi nazaron mein hai kitnaa jaadu
ho gaye pal mein kayi khwaab jawaan
kabhi uthane kabhi jhukne ki adaa
le chali jaane kidhar jaane kahaan
raaste pyaar ke (2) anjaane hai
hum teri aankhon ke deewaane hai (2)
har taraf ab yehi afsaane hai (2)

Meraa pyaar woh hai...

The collection on my ipod finally got replenished with new songs. Not literally new, but new for me. This is one of those gems that I'm totally hooked to since this evening. Wow! what a marvelous and romantic song.. it's been a while since I listened to one of these. It reminds me of tumhara chahnewala khuda ki duniya mein, may be because it's by the same singer and same musician and same lyricist and picturized on the same actor? whoa.. it's like they tried to recreate magic and it worked. It's the other way around actually. This one came first and then the song from Kahin Din Kahin Raat.

Audiowise both songs are super romantic and make me want to listen to them over and over again, but I do prefer watching b/w clip with the dimpled, very young, and extremely expressive Sharmila in it (I think I will forgive her for not wearing her signature blouse with a knot in the back ;)) than some random actress. Moreover, I am partial to the filming that takes you on a tour of facial features of actors.

Mahendra Kapoor is wonderful in this one and now I have one more song of his to add to my favorites collection. Can't praise the music enough and lyrics as always are absolutely crazy, but likable or so I find. :)

(meraa pyaar woh hai ke mar kar bhi tum ko
judaa apni baahon se hone na degaa) (2)
mili mujhko jannat to jannat ke badle
khudaa se meri jaan tumhe maang legaa
meraa pyaar woh hai

(what out of this world music plays here!)

zamaana to karvat badalta rahegaa
naye zindagi ke taraane banenge
mitegi na lekin mohabbat hamaari
mitaane ke sau sau bahaane banenge
haqeeqat hameshaa haqeeqat rahegi
kabhi bhi na is kaa fasaana banegaa
meraa pyaar woh hai ke mar kar bhi tum ko
judaa apni baahon se hone na degaa
meraa pyaar woh hai

(absolutely love the flute playing here)

tumhe chheen le meri baahon se koyi
meraa pyaar yoon besahaara nahin hai
tumhaara badan chaandani aa ke chhu le
mere dil ko yeh bhi ganwaara nahin hai
koyi bhi agar tum se aa ke mile to
tumhaari kasam hai meraa dil jalegaa

meraa pyaar woh hai ke mar kar bhi tum ko
judaa apni baahon se hone na degaa
mili mujhko jannat to jannat ke badle
khudaa se meri jaan tumhe maang legaa
meraa pyaar woh hai

Yeh albeli pyaar ki raahen...

What I like the most about this one is both of them singing so much together. I've never seen any other song where both the singers sing together for longer times.

Then my second favorite has to be the music. It's so peppy and cheers me up. :)

The locations are so beautiful no wonder they'd feel so happy... what amazes me is the singers have done such a fine justice to it that it just feels so right. Almost like they also sang in these locations.

F: yeh albeli pyaar ki raahen
yeh jaane pehchaane raste
kal bhi the yeh nikhare nikhare
aaj bhi hai yeh hanste hanste

M: aa ha ha ha ha
yeh albeli pyaar ki raahen
yeh jaane pehchaane raste
kal bhi the yeh nikhare nikhare
aaj bhi hai yeh hanste hanste

Both: aa ha ha ha ha
yeh albeli pyaar ki raahen

F: hum tum honge jahaan jahaan
pyaar bhi hoga wahaan wahaan
kehti hai dil ki dhadkan
hum jawaan tum jawaan

M: hum tum honge jahaan jahaan
pyaar bhi hoga wahaan wahaan
kehti hai dil ki dhadkan
hum jawaan tum jawaan (it's so cute how they pause in between this line)

Both: yeh albeli pyaar ki raahen
yeh jaane pehchaane raste
kal bhi the yeh nikhare nikhare
aaj bhi hai yeh hanste hanste
aa ha ha ha ha
yeh albeli pyaar ki raahen

M: jab tak raah dikhaane waali
teri shokh nazar hai
mere saathi mere humdum
pyaara pyaara yeh safar hai

F: jab tak raah dikhaane waali
teri shokh nazar hai
mere saathi mere humdum
pyaara pyaara yeh safar hai

Both: yeh albeli pyaar ki raahen
yeh jaane pehchaane raste
kal bhi the yeh nikhare nikhare
aaj bhi hai yeh hanste hanste
aa ha ha ha ha
yeh albeli pyaar ki raahen

(music here reminds me of ibtadaa-e-ishq mein song)

(M: waadi waadi gulshan gulshan
sang tere rukhsaaron ka
F: tere hi naghme gaaye
boota boota gulzaaron ka) (2)

Both: yeh albeli pyaar ki raahen
yeh jaane pehchaane raste
kal bhi the yeh nikhare nikhare
aaj bhi hai yeh hanste hanste
aa ha ha ha ha
yeh albeli pyaar ki raahen

Sharm aati hai magar...

One of my favorite songs of Saira Banu. Of course, it's not only her who makes it so but all other artists that make this one what it is, a gem that is. Absolutely love the music and lyrics of this one along with the singer! It's fun to watch it as well.

Today happens to be Saira Banu's birthday as well so wishing her lots of happiness, health and all that is beautiful just as she is. :) As I've said in the past too, this woman knows how to wear white sarees the best! I love that about her.

sharm aati hai magar aaj yeh kehnaa hoga (2)
ab hume aap ke kadmon hi mein rehnaa hoga
sharm aati hai magar

aap se rooth ke hum jitnaa jiye khaak jiye (2)
kayi ilzaam liye aur kayi ilzaam diye
aaj ke baad magar kuchh bhi na kehnaa hoga
ab hume aap ke kadmon hi mein rehnaa hoga
sharm aati hai magar aaj yeh kehnaa hoga

(absolutely love the music here)

der ke baad yeh samjhe hai mohabbat kyaa hai
ab hume chaand ke jhoomar ki zuroorat kyaa hai
pyaar se badhke bhalaa kaun sa gehna hoga (what beautiful eyes she has got in this part of the clip)
ab hume aap ke kadmon hi mein rehnaa hoga
sharm aati hai magar aaj yeh kehnaa hoga

aap ke pyaar ka beemaar hamaara dil hai (2)
aap ke gham ka khareedaar hamaara dil hai
aap ko apna koyi dard na sehnaa hoga
ab hume aap ke kadmon hi mein rehna hoga

sharm aati hai magar aaj yeh kehnaa hoga
ab hume aap ke kadmon hi mein rehnaa hoga
sharm aati hai hm hm hm...

Chaand Taktaa Hai Idhar

Best part about listening to songs with Papu is that I get to discover new songs out of nowhere. This one also came about like that. He thought it was "chaand dhalta??? hai idhar" and then we googled to find the right song. :)

Suman Kalyanpur has never sounded sweeter. Here once again she creates magic with Rafi sahab. What a sweet melody!

Music is of Roshan sahab and Sahirji's lyrics are a nice change to hear from our regular Hindi lyrics.

M: chaand taktaa hai idhar (2)
aao kahin chhup jaaye
F: kahin laage na nazar
aao kahin chhup jaaye
chaand taktaa hai idhar

M: phool shaakhon se jhuke jaate hai hothon ki taraf (2)
jhonkhe balkhaake mude aate hai
ho mude aate hai zulfon ki taraf
F: aa aa aa
chhod kar in ki dagar (2)
aao kahin chhup jaaye
kahin laage na nazar
aao kahin chhup jaaye
chaand taktaa hai idhar

F: main hi main dekhoon sajan doojaa na dekhe tohe (2)
kaa khabar kaun sautaniyaan toraa
ho sautaniyaan toraa man mohe
M: ho ho ho...
dil pe daalo na asar (2)
(aao kahin chhup jaaye
chaand taktaa hai idhar) (2)

M: saari nazaron se pare saare nazaaron se pare (2)
aasmaanon pe chamakte hue
ho chamakte hue taaron se pare
F: aa aa aa
odh kar laal chunar (2)
aao kahin chhup jaaye
kahin laage na nazar
aao kahin chhup jaaye
Both: chaand taktaa hai idhar

Main Kyaa Jaanu Kyaa Jaadu Hai

Discovered this melodious song while listening to some old songs on this blog. I completely adore how he sings the "kyaa" before "jaadu" each and every single time.

The music is of Pankaj Mullick and beautiful but very little amounts of lyrics are by Kidar Sharma.

main kyaa jaanu kyaa jaadu hai
jaadu hai (2)
main kyaa jaanu kyaa jaadu hai
in do matwaale nainon mein
jaadu hai (3)
main kyaa jaanu kyaa jaadu hai

ek ek athaa saagar sa hai (2)
in do matwaale nainon mein
jaadu hai (3)
main kyaa jaanu kyaa jaadu hai

(man poochh rahaa hai ab mujhse
nainon ne kahaa hai kyaa tujhse) (2)
jab nain mile
nainon ne kahaa (2)
jab nain mile nainon ne kahaa
ab nain base ke nainon mein

main kyaa jaanu kyaa jaadu hai
jaadu hai (2)
in do matwaale nainon mein
jaadu hai (3)
main kyaa jaanu kyaa jaadu hai

Yeh Waadiyaan Yeh Fizaayen...

At first, when I was listening to the song, I thought it must have been picturized on Shashi Kapoor. Or at least that's what it sounded like. But when I watched it, I was completely blown away by seeing Sunil Dutt! Nice to see him paired with young and beautiful Nanda.

Our hero is more than 6 ft tall and heroine is less than even 5 ft so this is how they choose to show them to hide the height difference. Quite interesting, as one doesn't even notice all that until you start paying attention.

I find this as sweet as a lullaby/lori and it just makes me want to keep listening to it. Thanks to Rafi sahab, Sahir ji and music maestro Ravi.

yeh waadiyaan yeh fizaayen bulaa rahi hai tumhe (2)
khaamoshiyon ki sadaayen bulaa rahi hai tumhe
yeh waadiyaan yeh fizaayen bulaa rahi hai tumhe

taras rahe hai jawaan phool hoth chhoone ko (2)
machal machal ke hawaayen bulaa rahi hai tumhe (2)
khaamoshiyon ki sadaayen bulaa rahi hai tumhe
yeh waadiyaan yeh fizaayen bulaa rahi hai tumhe

tumhaari zulfon se khushboo ki bheekh lene ko (2)
jhuki jhuki si ghataayen bulaa rahi hai tumhe (2)
khaamoshiyon ki sadaayen bulaa rahi hai tumhe (pay attention to how he sings the word khaamoshiyon)
yeh waadiyaan yeh fizaayen bulaa rahi hai tumhe

haseen champayi pairon ko jab se dekhaa hai haaye
haseen champayi pairon ko jab se dekhaa hai
nadi ki mast adaayen bulaa rahi hai tumhe (2)
khaamoshiyon ki sadaayen bulaa rahi hai tumhe
yeh waadiyaan yeh fizaayen bulaa rahi hai tumhe

(reminds me of this Hariharan song that goes like "raat mehke to yoon hi hota hai")

mera kahaa na suno inn ki baat to sun lo (2)
har ek dil ki duaayen bulaa rahi hai tumhe (2)
khaamoshiyon ki sadaayen bulaa rahi hai tumhe
yeh waadiyaan yeh fizaayen bulaa rahi hai tumhe

Humi se mohabbat humi se ladaayi

You don't see Dilip Kumar in this mood too often. I am having such a fun time watching him in Leader doing all the crazy things that are more of signature adaayen for say Shammi Kapoor or even Dharmendra. And Vijayantimala has been in too many serious roles so this one was a fresh change to see. I'm still half a way through the movie but couldn't get over this song so kept listening to it. Naushadji's music is gorgeous and so are the lyrics of Shakeel Badayuni sahab along with Rafi sahab's mischievous singing.

badi khubsoorat nazar aa rahi ho
yeh jee chaahta hai ke khud jaan de doon (2)
mohabbat mein aaye na tum par buraayi
arre maar daala duhaayi duhaayi

hume husn ki har adaa hai ganvaara
haseenon ka gussa bhi lagta hai pyaara
udhar tum ne teer-e-nazar dil pe maara (2)
idhar hum ne bhi jaan kar chot khaayi
humi se mohabbat humi se ladaayi (check out how she stomps his foot here.. hahaha!)

ho oo oo... ho oo oo...

abhi na samajh ho uthaao na khanjar (2)
kahin mud na jaaye tumhaari kalaayi
arre maar daala duhaayi duhaayi

HFM "car" songs

For my nephew everything that has wheels is called a car. So while watching film Professor (of Shammi Kapoor and Kalpana) today, when the song main chali main chali came up I was reminded of the fact that I still hadn't created a post on my "car" songs. I quickly went to my old HDD and dug up the vehicle songs files that I started creating back in 2006. Some editing and recalling and searching for a few hours and I have my "car" songs post!

I know this post is going to be updated often so if you can recall any that I might have missed, please do share. :) Thanks in advance.
