Filmein shilmein chalti thi... woh raatein ab kahaan gayi...

Best song of film Desi Boyz! That's how I like to describe it. I just got a chance to watch the movie last night and loved it. This was the song that stuck and I kept humming it while it was playing in the background for those 5-10 mins. Feel-good song of the feel-good movie. That's all I got to say. It takes me back to childhood as the lyrics say and then stay there. Describes how life used to be simpler because there was less. Less of everything. Simple. The best! As is the song. :)

PS. While searching for the lyricist, I just realized that it's all by Shahvaar Ali Khan. What a talented person! The song reminds me of "woh kaagaz ki kashti", and "give me some sunshine".

(filmein shilmein chalti thi hum gaane shaane gaate the
woh raatein ab kahaan gayi jab pal bhar mein so jaate the) (2)

fail fool ho kar hum maare shaare khaate the (2)
jeb bhi khaali hoti thi phir kahaan se himmat laate the
woh raatein ab kahaan gayi jab pal bhar mein so jaate the

filmein shilmein chalti thi hum gaane shaane gaate the

(june mein tab bhi garmi thi par hum yoon kam lagte the
gaadi shaadi kab hoti thi par sadke sab apni thi) (2)

gareeb jab ek ladke pe ameer ladki marti thi
aur yeh duniya apne liye waqt nikala karti thi
waqt nikala karti thi
botal shotal peeke hum kaise khush ho jaate the
woh raatein ab kahaan gayi jab pal bhar mein so jaate the

filmein shilmein chalti thi hum gaane shaane gaate the
woh raatein ab kahaan gayi jab pal bhar mein so jaate the

(maacho? kitna achha tha dushman bhi tab saccha tha
haar ke jab hum girte the to hume uthane padta tha) (2)

dost bhi koyi kam na tha tum mein bhi tum na tha
woh umar kuch aisi thi ke hum se koyi kam na tha
hum se koyi kam na tha
tedhe medhe log bhi kitne seedhe saade hote the
woh raatein ab kahaan gayi jab pal bhar mein so jaate the

filmein shilmein chalti thi hum gaane shaane gaate the
woh raatein ab kahaan gayi jab pal bhar mein so jaate the

fail fool ho kar hum maare shaare khaate the (2)
jeb bhi khaali hoti thi phir kahaan se himmat laate the
woh raatein ab kahaan gayi jab pal bhar mein so jaate the

(filmein shilmein chalti thi hum gaane shaane gaate the
woh raatein ab kahaan gayi jab pal bhar mein so jaate the) (3)

Tum hi hamaari ho manzil my love

Some songs never get old. This one is an example of that. I don't remember listening to the actual song with so much enthusiasm as I remember listening to my elder cousin brother singing it. And also, bin tere sanam was more famous than this so I sort of just bypassed this when it came to listening to the actual words and music of this one. Today, big brother shared the new picturized version of it and it was an instant love! The song reminds me of my other favorite songs from the early 90s, like jaati hoon main, kaahe sataaye kaahe ko rulaaye, and other songs of Jaan Tere Naam. I'm totally going crazy for this one now. Love Majrooh sahab's penned words and Jatin-Lalit's musical magic. I think even the singers do a good job. Listening to both the versions of the song made me realize how much technology and audio editing process have changed in last 20 years. Amazing!

M: tum hi hamaari ho manzil my love (2)
yeh aawaaz deta dil my love
tum hi hamaari ho manzil my love

aisa na jaano hum ko achaanak
tum pe yeh pyaar aa gaya
ho beeti ruto ka yeh rang hai jo
ban ke bahaar chhaa gaya
ho tum ko dekha pyaar aa gaya

tum hi hamaari ho manzil my love
yeh aawaaz deta dil my love
tum hi hamaari ho manzil my love

Chorus: aa aa aa.. aa aa aa...

F: chaaha to chaaha hum to meri jaan
waarenge tum pe jiya
ho aage hume kya kaahe ko soche
koyi bhi ho tum piya
ho tum sang jeena ho saathiya

tum hi hamaari ho manzil my love
yeh aawaaz deta dil my love
tum hi hamaari ho manzil my love

M: dekho humaari raahon mein jaanam
kya kya diye jal gaye
ho dil se nazar tak
gham ke andhere saaye jo the tal gaye
ho raste rangon mein dhal gaye

F: tum hi hamaari ho manzil my love
M: tum hi hamaari ho manzil my love
yeh aawaaz deta dil my love
Both: tum hi hamaari ho manzil my love

Yeh raat bheegi bheegi...

It's the evergreen music and lyrics that keep this one alive, oh wait.. it's the singers too! :) Can't forget them, can we?

Songs of this film were one of the first ones I remember listening to as a child and I think that's what keeps them so close to heart.

I adore Nargis in this one... so simple and so beautiful.

M: (yeh raat bheegi bheegi yeh mast fizaayen
utha dheere dheere woh chaand pyaara pyaara) (2)

F: aa aa aa aa.. aa aa aa...
kyon aag si lagaake gum-sum hai chaandni
sone bhi nahin deta mausam ka yeh ishaara

(what fun music!)

M: ithalaati hawaa neelam sa gagan
kaliyon pe yeh behoshi ki nami
aise mein bhi kyon bechain hai dil
jeevan mein na jaane kya hai kami

F: kyon aag si lagaake gum-sum hai chaandni
sone bhi nahin deta mausam ka yeh ishaara
M: yeh raat bheegi bheegi yeh mast fizaayen
utha dheere dheere woh chaand pyaara pyaara

(Notice how all of a sudden it changes to haunting music here!)

F: jo din ke ujaale mein na mila
dil dhoondhe aise sapne ko
ek raat ki jag-mag mein doobi
main dhoondh rahi hoon apne ko

M: yeh raat bheegi bheegi yeh mast fizaayen
utha dheere dheere woh chaand pyaara pyaara
F: kyon aag si lagaake gum-sum hai chaandni
sone bhi nahin deta mausam ka yeh ishaara

(got goosebumpy music?)

M: aise mein kahin kya koyi nahin
bhoole se jo hum ko yaad kare
F: ek halki si muskaan se jo
sapnon ka jahaan aabaad kare

M: yeh raat bheegi bheegi yeh mast fizaayen
utha dheere dheere woh chaand pyaara pyaara
F: kyon aag si lagaake gum-sum hai chaandni
sone bhi nahin deta mausam ka yeh ishaara
Both: yeh raat bheegi bheegi yeh mast fizaayen
utha dheere dheere woh chaand pyaara pyaara

Yaad mein teri jaag jaag ke hum...

One of the best scenes of the film with superb dialogs! It is one of my favorite scenes of the film where Nawaab sahab (Ashok Kumar) actually thinks bad of his friend, Anwar (Rajendra Kumar) but reality is something completely different and how at the end of a-minute-long conversation between Husna and Anwar leaves him speechless and feeling guilty. It's amazing and they've picturized it so well. What top-notch acting by all the actors!

I'm so happy this clip just includes this scene and the beautiful song that follows. Of course, it's hard to choose just one song from this one as each and everyone is fabulous but this one does get a little higher score for having out-of-the-world music, meaningful touchy lyrics and the gorgeous couple with great on-screen chemistry!

M: yaad mein teri jaag jaag ke hum
raat bhar karvate badalte hai
har ghadi dil mein teri ulfat ke
dheeme dheeme chiraag jalte hai

F: jab se toone nigaah pheri hai
din hai soona to raat andheri hai
chaand bhi ab nazar nahin aata
ab sitaare bhi kam nikalte hai

yaad mein teri jaag jaag ke hum
raat bhar karvate badalte hai

M: loot gayi woh bahaar ki mehfil
chhut gayi hum se pyaar ki manzil
zindagi ki udaas raahon mein
teri yaadon ke saath chalte hai

yaad mein teri jaag jaag ke hum
raat bhar karvate badalte hai

F: tujhko paa kar hume bahaar mili
tumjhse chhutkar magar yeh baat khuli
baagbaan bhi chaman ke phoolon ko
apne pairon se khud masalte hai

yaad mein teri jaag jaag ke hum
raat bhar karvate badalte hai

M: kyaa kahe tujhse kyon hui doori
hum samajhte hai apni majhboori
tujhko maaloom kyaa ke tere liye
dil gham aansuo mein dhalte hai

F: yaad mein teri jaag jaag ke hum
raat bhar karvate badalte hai
har ghadi dil mein teri ulfat ke
dheeme dheeme chiraag jalte hai

Saiyaan chhodo mori baiyaan

Felt like listening to some thumris today. Since I haven't listened to too many of them, I don't have a list but this one is my most favorite one of all that I've listened to. When you listen to this one, you get transported into what is called the tabla-heaven!! Experience it for yourself.

Absolutely love Richa Sharma's voice!

In the film, it plays very briefly and in background. Can't believe they didn't play more of it during the film.

aa aa aa...
aa aa.. aa aa aa..
saiyaan
saiyaan chhodo mori baiyaan saiyaan (2)
saiyaan haaye chhodo na mori
haaye chhodo mori baiyaan

maano bhi kanhaai hogi jag-hasaai (2)
dekho dekho..
dekh rahi hai saari guiyaan dekho saiyaan
chhodo.. saiyaan chhodo mori baiyaan saiyaan
chhodo re mori baiyaan
chhodo na mori baiyaan saiyaan

choodi jo koyi tooti maathe se bindiya chhuti
haaye
choodi jo koyi tooti maathe se bindiya chhuti
ghar kyaa bataaungi main haaye mar jaaungi main (2)
jaane do mohe kaanha kaanha ji ore kaanha
jaane do mohe kaanha re
jaane do jaane do mohe kaanha
saiyaan chhodo na mori baiyaan
chhodo mori baiyaan haaye
chhodo na mori haaye
chhodo mori baiyaan saiyaan
chhodo na mori baiyaan. haaye saiyaan
chhodo baiyaan.. haaye baiyaan

Aap ki aankhon mein kuchh...

What a gorgeous song! Almost everything except for that smoking and him blowing dhua in her face *disgusting* but I'll overlook that for a bit. What a fun song otherwise. Absolutely love the singers, lyrics and music and both actors. I do have to admit that the lyrics take the cake here, for me at least.

How handsome does Vinod Mehra look. No wonder Rekha fell in love with him. Anyone would. And she too looks absolutely lovely and so simple in the most simple saaris.

M: aap ki aankhon mein kuchh mehke hue se raaz hai (2)
aap se bhi khoobsoorat aap ke andaaz hai
aap ki aankhon mein kuchh mehke hue se raaz hai

(love the music that plays here)

lab hile to mogare ke phool khilte hai kahin (2)

hehehe

Aankhon Mein Base Ho Tum

This is one of my favorites from 15 years ago... almost relived my HSc year listening to this song. Super fun songs were back in that era and nice to even watch. Love the clapping sort of sound that plays in the background that makes you want to start swaying your shoulders and start tapping your feet. Anu Malik surely knows how to make catchy music. The singers are also pretty good, I do like Alka's voice better though. And I completely adore Sunil Shetty in this one and Sonali also, but her outfits more. ;) Don't they look so very extremely cute together?!

For some strange reason, Sonali tugging on Sunil Shetty's camera strap reminds me of Asha Parekh tugging on the strap of Shammi Kapoor's bag in o mere sona re. How random!

Must listen to more of Maya Govind's poetry.

M: hey ey.. ho oo.. (2)
F: la lah lah la la
la la la la la la
la lah lah la la

M: aankhon mein base ho tum
haan
aankhon mein base ho tum tumhe dil mein chhupa loonga (2)
jab chaahu tumhe dekhu aaina banaa loonga

hey ey.. ho oo.. (2)

F: aankhon mein base ho tum
haan
aankhon mein base ho tum tumhe dil mein chhupa loongi (2)
jab chaahu tumhe dekhu aaina banaa loongi
aankhon mein base ho tum tumhe dil mein chhupa loongi

F: taqdeer meri ab to taqdeer tumhaari hai
jahaan dil tha kabhi mera tasveer tumhaari hai

M: yeh lab jo tere larse mere dil mein hui hulchal
mera chain churaata hai teri aankh ka kaajal

F: abhi chain churaaya hai
hey
abhi chain churaaya hai kal tumhe chura loongi (2)
jab chaahu tumhe dekhu aaina banaa loongi

M: hey ey.. ho oo.. (2)
tu paas jo mere hai kya kaam bahaaron se
yeh chamkile naina kya kaam sitaaron se

F: tere naam ki dhadkan ho tere naam ki saansen ho
ek pal na judaa ho tum aankhon mein aankhen ho

M: koyi naam-e-pataa poochhe
haan
koyi naam-e-pataa poochhe main naam tera loonga (2)
jab chaahu tumhe dekhu aaina banaa loonga
ho oo...
F: aa aa...
M: hey ey...

aankhon mein base ho tum
haan
F: aankhon mein base ho tum tumhe dil mein chhupa loongi (2)
jab chaahu tumhe dekhu aaina banaa loongi

Bekhudi mein sanam...

And I'm back to my favorite decade, the 60s!! I have to admit that I love this one more for music and Shashi Kapoor and the singers' voices than the rest of the talent, if that's what we want to call it. ;) This KA music is the kind that makes the tiny hairs on the entire body stand up, specially the violins and the tabla that go off as soon as Rafi sahab starts singing in the beginning and piercing voice of Lata ji and how Papu would say, that "aashaadhi" (આષાઢી) voice of Rafi sahab! And in all that I didn't even realize that our heroine came and went in a turquoise-colored Santa outfit. I mean who gets time to look at that while that delicious looking Shashi Kapoor is around. This one is one of my favorites of him.

F: bekhudi mein sanam uth gaye jo kadam
aa gaye ey ey aa gaye
aa gaye paas hum (2)

(Introducing the turquoise Santa!) ;)

M: bekhudi mein sanam uth gaye jo kadam (2)
aa gaye ey ey ey aa gaye
aa gaye paas hum (2)

F: ho ho ho bekhudi mein sanam uth gaye jo kadam
aa gaye ey ey ey aa gaye
aa gaye paas hum (2)

M: bekhudi mein sanam uth gaye jo kadam

F: aag yeh kaisi man mein lagi hai
man se badhi to tan mein lagi hai
M: aag nahin yeh dil ki lagi hai
jitni bujhaayi utni jali hai
F: dil ki lagi na ho to kya zindagi hai
saath hum jo chale mit gaye faasle
M: aa gaye ey ey aa gaye
aa gaye paas hum (2)
Both: bekhudi mein sanam uth gaye jo kadam

M: khoyi nazar thi soye nazaare
dekha tumhe to jaage yeh saare
F: dil ne kiye jo dil ko ishaare
mil ke chale hum saath tumhaare
M: aaj khushi se mera dil yeh pukaare
tera daaman mila pyaar mera khila
F: aa gaye ey ey aa gaye
aa gaye paas hum (2)
Both: bekhudi mein sanam uth gaye jo kadam

F:dil ki kahaani pahoochi zubaan tak
kis ko khabar ab pahoche kahaan tak
M:pyaar ke raahi aaye yahaan tak
jaayenge dil ki had hai jahaan tak
F:tum saath do to chale hum aasmaan tak
dil mein armaan liye laakh toofaan liye

Both: aa gaye ey ey aa gaye
aa gaye paas hum (2)
bekhudi mein sanam uth gaye jo kadam (2)

Bin Tere Sanam...

This time in India, I got to listen to so many of my favorite songs from the 90s that I almost felt like I was taken back to my teenage years. Thanks to Sbhai, for still keeping them all on his lappy... I not only got to listen to them but watch them too! I can't stop humming my favorite ones from back then and this one is one of them. Silly actors but what fun song it is.. oh my! I love it. The music, singing and lyrics.. all of them.

F: aa... aa aa aa aa aa..
M: hey hey hey.. hey.. hey hey hey.. aa ha
hey hey hey hey hey
F: aa aa aa.. aa.. aa aa aa aa..

M: bin tere sanam mar mitenge hum aa meri zindagi (2)
F: aana hi padaa sajnaa zaalim hai dil ki lagi (2)

M: bin tere sanam mar mitenge hum aa meri zindagi
F: ho..
aana hi padaa sajnaa zaalim hai dil ki lagi (2)

M: (tere hi dam se hogi dil ki muraad poori
tere bagair jaanam hai zindagi adhoori) (2)
aye mere haseen ab na ja kahin aa meri zindagi
F: aana hi padaa sajnaa zaalim hai dil ki lagi
M: bin tere sanam mar mitenge hum aa meri zindagi
F: ho.. aana hi padaa sajnaa zaalim hai dil ki lagi

F: (yeh jaan kar balam ji thaami hai teri baahen
sehni padegi sab ki kaanton bhari nigaahen) (2)
M: sab sahenge hum aur hasenge hum aa meri zindagi
F: ho ho ho.. aana hi padaa sajnaa zaalim hai dil ki lagi

Naino mein badra chhaaye...

Lata Mangeshkar is God! So is Madan Mohan! And Raja Mehdi Ali Khan too. Crazy folks, this lot! They blow my mind away. What music.. what voice and lyrics just out of this world... I can't say it in words. You've just got to listen to it.

(naino mein badra chhaaye
bijali si chamke haaye
aise mein balam mohe garva lagaa le) (2)
naino mein badra chhaaye

madira mein doobi ankhiyaan
chanchal hai dono sakhiyaan
madira mein doobi *major goosebumpy music*
madira mein doobi ankhiyaan
chanchal hai dono sakhiyaan
chhalti rahengi tohe
palkon ki pyaari batiyaan
sharma ke denge tohe
madira ke pyaale
naino mein badra chhaaye
bijali si chamke haaye
aise mein balam mohe garva lagaa le
naino mein badra chhaaye

aa aa.. aa aa aa... aa aa aa...

prem deewaani hoon main
sapnon ki raani hoon main
prem deewaani
prem deewaani hoon main
sapnon ki raani hoon main
pichhale janam se teri
prem kahani hoon main
aur is janam bhi tu apna banaa le
naino mein badra chhaaye
bijali si chamke haaye
aise mein balam mohe garva lagaa le
naino mein badra chhaaye

aa aa.. aa aa aa...
aa aa.. aa aa aa... aa aa..

Ajnabi Kaun Ho Tum...

One of the songs I wish I listened to more often... it's my favorite, mostly for the music and second would have to be Lataji's singing. It's the music that gives this one the goosebumpy haunting kind of feeling to it. You have to listen to it with your car windows rolled down and you driving alone, listening to this one at a speed of 45 miles per hour on a single lane road with no traffic to know what I'm talking about.

(ajnabi kaun ho tum jab se tumhe dekha hai
saari duniya meri aankhon mein simat aayi hai) (2)
ajnabi kaun ho tum

(wow! what beautiful music plays here)

tum to har geet mein shaamil the tarannum ban ke (it sounds like santoor playing here.. such gorgeous tunes)
tum mile ho mujhe phoolon ka tabassum ban ke
aisa lagta hai ke barson se shanaas?? aayi hai
ajnabi kaun ho tum jab se tumhe dekha hai
saari duniya meri aankhon mein simat aayi hai
ajnabi kaun ho tum

khwaab ka rang haqeeqat mein nazar aaya hai
dil mein dhadkan ki tarah koyi utar aaya hai
aaj har saans mein shehnaayi si lehraayi hai
ajnabi kaun ho tum jab se tumhe dekha hai
saari duniya meri aankhon mein simat aayi hai
ajnabi kaun ho tum

koyi aahat si andhero mein chamak jaati hai
raat aati hai to tanhaayi mehek jaati hai
tum mile ho ya mohabbat mein ghazal gaayi hai
ajnabi kaun ho tum jab se tumhe dekha hai
saari duniya meri aankhon mein simat aayi hai
ajnabi kaun ho tum

Waadiyaan mera daaman...

So actually it happens so that in Hulchul, it is not when Kishanbhaiya/Murari arrives at Gangapur this Rafi song plays. It is when Jai and Lucky get off the bus (at 1:30:00 in this clip) this song plays. Then the song playing when Kishanbhaiya arrives (at 1:33:00 min) is different and quite inaudible so it's hard to listen.

Coming back to our song now.. wow! what a fabulous song... and it's all thanks to the RDB music & the way Rafi sahab has sung this song. Nothing else adds to it. The dhun is so catchy and echoing music out of this world! I guess this must be my favorite song too because it also falls under the most-absentmindedly-hummed category.

Sanjay Khan and Nanda are just about okay in the gorgeous melodious male solo version of the song seems a bit haunting at times. The softer romantic female version, which could actually be a duet, is picturized on Nanda and Marathi actor Kashinath Ghanekar. Note how both versions have completely different music.

M: (waadiyaan mera daaman raaste meri baahen
jaao mere siva tum kahaan jaaoge) (2)
waadiyaan mera daaman

jab churaaoge tan tum kisi baat se (2)
shaakh-e-gul chhed degi mere haath se
apni hi zulf ko aur uljaaoge
waadiyaan mera daaman raaste meri baahen
jaao mere siva tum kahaan jaaoge
waadiyaan mera daaman

jab se milne lagi tum se raahen meri (2)
chaand sooraj bani do nigaahen meri
tum kahin bhi raho tum nazar aaoge
(waadiyaan mera daaman raaste meri baahen
jaao mere siva tum kahaan jaaoge) (2)
waadiyaan mera daaman

~~~~~
M: waadiyaan mera daaman raaste meri baahen
jaao mere siva tum kahaan jaaoge
F: (waadiyaan mera daaman raaste meri baahen
jaao mere siva tum kahaan jaaoge) (2)
waadiyaan mera daaman
jab hasegi kali rang waali koyi (2)
aur jhuk jaayegi tum pe dalai koyi
sir jhukaaye hue tum mujhe paaoge
waadiyaan mera daaman raaste meri baahen
jaao mere siva tum kahaan jaaoge
waadiyaan mera daaman
chal rahe ho jahaan is nazar se pare (2)
woh dagar to guzarti hai dil se mere
dagmagaate hue tum yehi aaoge
Khoya Khoya Chaand Khula Aasmaan...
I really enjoy rewatching my favorite films because that's when I get to pay attention to those little details that I probably missed while watching them the previous times.
Do you remember that scene in Dilwaale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (at 6:26 min) when super upset Baauji (Amrish Puri) arrives at home from store after just having dealt with beer-guzzling Raj (SRK)? Simran (Kajol) wants to go on a tour of Europe, so to set the right mood, she promptly switches the song from random hulla-gulla type song (which probably is another HFM oldie) to gham diye mustakil.
Similarly, in Jab We Met when Aditya (Shahid) and Geet (Kareena) arrive at Hotel Decent, there is a moment when some random song plays in the background. The music of it is so cool it just makes you feel happy. I kept wondering and recalling random songs for almost an hour to find out which one this was until Papu came by. As soon as I had him listen to it, he said it!! and indeed this was it!!
I think there's one more song like this. It is during the scene in film Hulchul (Kareena starrer) when Kishanbhaiya (Paresh Raval) arrives at his village on a bus to see his wife Gopi (Farah). He gets off the bus near this paan ki dukaan/stall and the song is playing in the background right at that moment. I definitely know it's a Mohd Rafi song.. need to go back and watch the scene again to remember what song that is... that song tomorrow, if I don't already have it on here. :)
Any ways, for this one, I find it hilarious that Dev Anand sahab had to move his hands such funny way to make it work. I love the song nevertheless, mostly for the music and lyrics and Rafi sahab's voice. And also for the fact that it has fooooooooooourrrr lovely stanzas and how the third one starts off on a completely different tune than rest of them. Enjoy!
ho ho ho ho
(khoya khoya chaand khula aasmaan
aankhon mein saari raat jaayegi
tum ko bhi kaise neend aayegi ho ho) (2)
khoya khoya chaand
(this music plays at the beginning of scene at Hotel Decent in Jab We Met)
masti bhari hawaa jo chali (2)
khil-khil gayi yeh dil ki kali
man ki gali main hai khalbhali
ke unko to bulaao
ho ho ho... ho ho
khoya khoya chaand khula aasmaan
aankhon mein saari raat jaayegi
tum ko bhi kaise neend aayegi ho ho
khoya khoya chaand
taare chale nazaare chale (2)
sang sang mere woh saare chale
chaaron taraf ishaare chale
kisi ke to ho jaao
ho ho ho... ho ho
khoya khoya chaand khula aasmaan
aankhon mein saari raat jaayegi
tum ko bhi kaise neend aayegi ho ho
khoya khoya chaand
ho.. ho ho ho (2)
aisi hi raat bheegi si raat (2)
haathon mein haath hote woh saath
keh lete unse dil ki yeh baat
ab to na sataao
ho ho ho... ho ho
khoya khoya chaand khula aasmaan
aankhon mein saari raat jaayegi
tum ko bhi kaise neend aayegi ho ho
khoya khoya chaand
hum mit chale jinke liye
hum mit chale hai jinke liye
bin kuchh kahe woh chup chup rahe
koyi zaraa yeh unse kahe
na aise aazmaao
ho ho ho... ho ho
khoya khoya chaand khula aasmaan
aankhon mein saari raat jaayegi
tum ko bhi kaise neend aayegi ho ho
khoya khoya chaand (6)
Aye Mohabbat Meri Duniya
Another abhinay based song with meaningful lyrics. A bit sad song but how full of emotions and expressions is this one... simply amazing! Love Waheeda Rehman so much along with Hemantda's music.
aye mohabbat meri duniya mein tera kaam na tha
aye mohabbat meri
tu na aayi thi to gham ka bhi kahin naam na tha
aye mohabbat meri duniya mein tera kaam na tha
aye mohabbat meri
jaane kyon aaj hai shikva mujhe duniya bhar se (2)
isse pehle to kisi par koi ilzaam na tha
aye mohabbat meri duniya mein tera kaam na tha
aye mohabbat meri
meri kismat ke mujhe ashq hi peene ko mile (2)
mere hisse mein mohabbat ka koi jaam na tha
aye mohabbat meri duniya mein tera kaam na tha
aye mohabbat meri
denewaale mujhe kyon toone mohabbat de di (2)
kya gham-e-ishq se pehle mujhe aaraam na tha
aye mohabbat meri duniya mein tera kaam na tha
aye mohabbat meri
Do Ghadi Woh Jo Paas Aa Baithe
Been listening to songs with outstanding abhinay by the artists. This was among of my favorites for the lyrics and music along with the acting/abhinay of both of these actors. First time ever I actually liked Bharat Bhushan and Madhubala looks so innocent with such expressive eyes. Truly gorgeous! As usual, the music/tunes of this song remind me of some other song but I can't pinpoint to which one...
M:: do ghadi woh jo paas aa baithe (2)
F:: hum zamaane se door ja baithe (2)
Both:: do ghadi woh jo paas aa baithe
M:: (bhool ki un ka hum-naseen ho ke
royenge dil ko umra-bhar kho ke) (2)
haaye kya cheez thi loota baithe
Both:: do ghadi woh jo paas aa baithe
F:: (dil ko ek din zaroor jaana tha
wahin pahooncha jahaan thikaana tha) (2)
dil wohi dil jo dil mein jaa baithe
Both:: do ghadi woh jo paas aa baithe
M:: (ek dil hi tha gham-gusaar apnaa
meherbaan khaas raazdaar apnaa) (2)
gair ka kyon use banaa baithe
Both:: do ghadi woh jo paas aa baithe
F:: (gair bhi to koyi haseen hogaa
dil yoon hi de diyaa nahin hogaa) (2)
dekh kar kuchh to chot khaa baithe
Both:: do ghadi woh jo paas aa baithe
hum zamaane se door ja baithe
do ghadi woh jo paas aa baithe
Madhosh Hawaa Matwaali Fizaa... Sansaar Suhaana Lagta Hai
Happy New Year 2011! May this year be filled with more fun music and ever growing love for it.
So what happens when you start listening to songs in the new year anticipating fun numbers to listen to and watch while youtubing and your three-stanza-long-positive-thoughts-filled song turns out to be double in length and even more fun!!? That is called a truly happy new year. That's exactly what happened today while listening to this number and boy! am I glad I went to listen to those initial songs on Resp. Shammi ji's channel on youtube. That was also a discovery - a complete cherry-on-top, icing-on-the-cake moment.
If you've listened to this one before, I guarantee that it will still be more entertaining to listen to it again today. I love love LOVE this one and not just for Rafi sahab or for Shammi ji but both of them and even more. The SJ music is so upbeat and cheers me up and lyrics are out of this world. What a nice song penned by Farooq Qaiser. My greedy self still wants to have the video of this whole song on youtube. Hopefully soon! :D
ho ho ho... ho ho... ho ho ho...
aa ha ha aa ha aa ha ha ha ha...
ey hey hey... aa ha... aa ha...
ho ho ho... ho ho... ho ho ho...
madhosh hawaa matwaali fizaa sansaar suhaana lagta hai (2)
kar le na kisi se pyaar kahin dil apna deewaana lagta hai
madhosh hawaa matwaali fizaa sansaar suhaana lagta hai
(raahi hoon nayaa anjaan dagar
pyaara hai badaa jeevan ka safar) (2)
nikla hoon main apni masti mein
maaloom nahin manzil hai kidhar
yeh badhte hue bechain kadam
paayenge thikaana lagta hai
kar le na kisi se pyaar kahin dil apna deewaana lagta hai
madhosh hawaa matwaali fizaa sansaar suhaana lagta hai
(hothon pe haseen aankhon mein nami
is baat ki hai duniya mein kami) (2)
jeena bhi wohi marna bhi wohi
taqdeer sabhi ko ek mili
main jis ki kahaani dil se sunu
apna hi fasaana lagta hai
(kar le na kisi se pyaar kahin dil apna deewaana lagta hai
madhosh hawaa matwaali fizaa sansaar suhaana lagta hai) (2)
oh ho ho.. ho ho.. ho ho ho...
ey hey hey.. hey hey... hey hey hey...
kar le na kisi se pyaar kahin dil apna deewaana lagta hai
madhosh hawaa matwaali fizaa sansaar suhaana lagta hai
(pal bhar ko na hum aaraam kare
do haath hazaaron kaam kare) (2)
kismat ki shikaayat kya karna
bhagwan ko kyon badnaam kare
ek roz humaare haathon se
badalega zamaana lagta hai
kar le na kisi se pyaar kahin dil apna deewaana lagta hai
madhosh hawaa matwaali fizaa sansaar suhaana lagta hai
jo aag tumhaare dil mein lage
us aag mein mera dil bhi jale ha ha
jo aag tumhaare dil mein lage
uss aag mein mera dil bhi jale
dhanwaan ho ya nirdhan ho koyi
daata ki nazar mein ek hue
insaan se rishta insaan ka
is jag mein puraana lagta hai
kar le na kisi se pyaar kahin dil apna deewaana lagta hai
oh ho ho.. ho ho.. aa ha ha ha...
ey hey hey.. hey hey... hey hey hey...
kar le na kisi se pyaar kahin dil apna deewaana lagta hai
madhosh hawaa matwaali fizaa sansaar suhaana lagta hai
(nazaren hai kahin zulfen hai kahin
har baat jawaan har baat haseen) (2)
mitataa hai mera dil mit jaaye
to apni adaayen rok nahin
andaaz jawaani kya kahiye
thokar mein zamaana lagta hai
kar le na kisi se pyaar kahin dil apna deewaana lagta hai
madhosh hawaa matwaali fizaa sansaar suhaana lagta hai
(tum apni nazar ki bechaini
samjhoge nahin kamsin ho abhi) (2)
aata hai mazaa ab jeene mein
mar jaaye hamaare dil ki lagi
dekha jo tumhe to yaad aaya
yeh dard puraana lagta hai
kar le na kisi se pyaar kahin dil apna deewaana lagta hai
oh ho ho.. aa ha.. aa ha...
oh ho ho.. aa ha.. ha ha ha...
aa ha ho.. ho ho.. aa ha...
aa ha ha.. aa ha.. ha ha ha...
