Ek Din Aap Yoon...

I stumbled upon this song again today after years. I am getting to listen to the best of 90s songs these days. It's amazing to rediscover these forgotten gems with upbeat music. Songs like these just add so much life to a day.

Javed Akhtar is the king of romance, in my view. What great lyrics has he penned... It's amazing!

F: (ek din aap yoon hum ko mil jaayenge
phool hi phool raahon mein khil jaayenge
maine socha na tha) (2)

M: (ek din zindagi itni hogi haseen
jhoomega aasmaan gaayegi yeh zameen) (2)
maine socha na tha

F: (dil ki daali pe kaliyaan si khilne lagi
jab nigaahen nigaahon se milne lagi) (2)
M: ek din is taraah hosh kho jaayenge
paas aaye to madhosh ho jaayenge
maine socha na tha

F: ek din aap yoon hum ko mil jaayenge
phool hi phool raahon mein khil jaayenge
maine socha na tha

(Some awesome orchestra literally sweeps you off the feet here and for some real strange reason I am reminded of the music of "chaahe banaa do chaahe mita do... ehsaan tera hoga mujhpar" and "koi manchala gar pakad lega aanchal... huzoor is kadar bhi na")

M: (jagamagaati hui jaagti raat hai
raat hai ya sitaaron ki barsaat hai) (2)
F: ek din dil ki raahon mein apne liye
jal uthenge mohabbat ke itne diye
maine socha na tha

M: ek din zindagi itni hogi haseen
jhoomega aasmaan gaayegi yeh zameen
maine socha na tha

F: ek din aap yoon hum ko mil jaayenge
phool hi phool raahon mein khil jaayenge
maine socha na tha

M: maine socha na tha
F: maine socha na tha

Oh my! You come up with my favorite songs, time after time! This one is a gem, indeed. Height of romance! I loved the picturization too. Only thing I didn't like about this song was Kumar's Sanu's nasal voice!

Rajani, so right you are... I think Bollywood comes up with these gems that are often forgotten in the amount of songs/movies that come out but thanks to my brand new romance collection from the 90s, I was reminded of this one again. It's just so romantic, like you said. Agree with Kumar Sanu's voice bit. I even get that same feeling with Udit Narayan's voice now.. it sounds like he constantly has cold/coughing. Don't you think so? haha!
