Such a beautiful song.. mom would always hum this one ever since I was a kid, now I know why. The raag is so addicting. And it did remind me of "kaahe tarsaaye" of Chitralekha. That's because both are based on same raag. :)
I think the person who the song is picturized on is Leela Naidu. So very beautiful looking lady and Balraj Sahani looks quite handsome.
I wonder whether the music director is same as Pt. Ravi Shankar... may be not. Shailendra's lyrics touch heart through Lataji's voice, which travels like an arrow from the bow.
haaye re woh din kyon na aaye (2)
jaa jaa ke ritu (2) laut aaye
haaye re woh din kyon na aaye
jhilmil woh taare kahaan gaye saare (2)
man baati jale bujh jaaye
haaye re woh din kyon na aaye
jaa jaa ke ritu laut aaye
haaye re woh din kyon na aaye
sooni meri beenaa sangeet binaa (2)
sapnon ki maalaa murjhaaye
haaye re woh din kyon na aaye
jaa jaa ke ritu laut aaye
haaye re woh din kyon na aaye

There is a slight yet considerable difference in the songs you have mentioned while the song - Kahe Tarsaye is based on raag Kalavati, the song Haye Re Woh Din is actually based on the very similar yet a distinct Raag Jansammohini, Raag Kalavati very close to it has no 'R' in avroha - Hemu Doshi
Great song
