I wish I were a little more religiously bent, and I'd have enjoyed the song.. though, Happy Janmaashtami! I know from friends that Gujju girls are pious and regularly visit the temple with a thaali (I mean for puja). Wishing what you pray for comes true!

Meanwhile, I thought I'd comment here because I found no place to comment for the song you are hearing right now - 'Yeh mulaaqat ek bahaana hai'. Bahana nahi to aur kya hai? Very good song, and while I don't have it on my blog (I think), I do have it on my iPod.

The line worth mentioning - "Man mera pyaar ka shivala hai".. though Krishna turns out to be an avatar of Vishnu.. phir bhi..

Javasahab, hum religious hai lekin itne bhi nahin ke roz mandir jaaye. That too not with thaali, at least not yet. That makes me not an avg. Gujju girl I guess. Thanks for the wishes, btw.

I just found out that you had found the old post on this song earlier also. You probably just forgot. :) It's one of my favorites too.

What does shivala mean? I understand it to be like shivaalay (shrine for Lord Shiva). Is that correct?

I thought Vishnu was an avatar or Shri Krishna. No?

Wow, thanks for that link to the old post, I didn't remember the post until I saw my own comment - "Sada sukhi raho"!

Shivaala - yes, shrine of Lord Shiva. (I had guessed that before googling my way).

It's the other way round.. Krishna is an avatar of Vishnu. Ram is another avatar of Vishnu. Lord Ganesh is not an avatar of Vishnu though ... here's wishing you a Happy Ganesh Chaturthi!

Java, I know I laughed out loud when I saw the comment. I was just looking for the song post but comment made me smile and laugh.
I guess you're right about Krishna being an avatar of Vishnu. Belated wishes to you for Happy Ganesh Chaturthi! Hope it was wonderful. :)
