When you listen to this song, you just realize what the class of this song was back then and now. It never gets old, and sounds as fresh as it was only yesterday that it was created.
I have to admit I wish they made Lataji's version back then too, just because I feel it's sung at a little slower pace than Mukeshji's which makes it more emotional. But in any case, I adore the original one too! The lyrics touch that raw nerve inside somewhere. And without those sarangi, sitar and violin playing so beautifully in the background, the song would have been nothing... they stir your heart and countless emotions. Check it out for yourself.
