Dil Ki Nazar Se...

I felt like listening to this one all over again. It is one of those that I listened to as a kid for the very first time and never cared about it.

Now it has become one of my favorite Mukesh-Lata duets. When Lata ji sings "aakaash mein..." you actually feel like there are those gestures created in the skies and when Mukesh sings "madbhari yeh tumhaari nazar kaa asar hai" one literally feels the mad/intoxication of Nutan's eyes. Shankar Jaikishan know how to create immortal music.

M: dil ki nazar se nazaron ki dil se
yeh baat kyaa hai yeh raaz kyaa hai
koi hume bataa de

F: seene se uth kar hothon pe aayaa
yeh geet kaisaa yeh raag kyaa hai
koi hume bataa de

M: dil ki nazar se nazaron ki dil se
yeh baat kyaa hai yeh raaz kyaa hai
koi hume bataa de dil ki nazar se

F: (kyon bekhabar yoon khinchi si chali jaa rahi main
yeh kaun se bandhanon mein bandhi jaa rahi main) (2)
kuchh kho rahaa hai kuchh mil rahaa hai
yeh baat kya hai yeh raaz kya hai
koi hume bataa de dil ki nazar se

M: (hum kho chale chaand hai ya koi jaadugar hai
yaa madbhari yeh tumhaari nazar kaa asar hai) (2)
sab kuchh humaaraa ab hai tumhaaraa
yeh baat kya hai yeh raaz kya hai
koi hume bataa de dil ki nazar se

F: (aakaash mein ho rahe hai yeh kaise ishaare
M: kyaa dekhkar aaj hai itne khush chaand-taare) (2)
kyon tum paraaye dil mein samaaye
yeh baat kyaa hai yeh raaz kyaa hai
koi hume bataa de

Both: dil ki nazar se nazaron ki dil se
yeh baat kyaa hai yeh raaz kyaa hai
koi hume bataa de dil ki nazar se

This is why I love your blog! You just come up with the most wonderful songs ---- Gems!
BTW, I think it is "seene se uthkar hothon pe aaya"..
Keep up the good work!!

Rajk, thanks for your cute comment & of course the correction. :) I've updated the post. I think it was the times that this song was created it that made it a "gem". There's so much goodness that it's hard to say what makes it so good... except for work of hundreds of people. Thanks for stopping by. :)
