Mere humsafar... mere paas aa...

One of my favorite songs of year 2000. Anu Malik does it again. Probably the best song Alka Yagnik has sung and Sonu Nigam just makes the icing on the cake. Simply outstanding! Tabla add life to this song along with the most romantic lyrics.

Wow, this is my first visit on your blog.
And look, what i found, Refugee has got indeed good music.
Before blaming Annu Mallik, for copying other songs, why don't anyone listen to his this kinda stuff? He is master. And reminds me of R D Burman.
Sonu has done fantastic job in this.
P.S.: This is fav of my papa too, who is not into 'New' movie songs.

Darshit, welcome to my blog! Refugee was one of the best movies with awesome music. Truly a great album for all HFM lovers. I adore Anu Malik's music; I didn't know he too was getting blamed for copying music. Sonu Nigam is God! Of course, after Mohd Rafi. Such a coincidence - this song is a favorite of my dad and I too. :)

Btw, thank you for your comments.

I am usually not a Anu Malik fan.. knowing him only for songs like "Oonchi hai building".. There probably are 3-5 songs in all his career that I've liked, and one of them is "Mere Humsafar"...

Good to know that at least about 10-15% of our favorite songs seem to be common. To clarify - I do love almost all the songs you post, and the above 10-15% represent songs I'd have posted on my blog, in case I haven't already...

Ciao!

Java, hey, welcome back :) I used to think like that about Anu Malik until I found some really cool songs of him. If you haven't gotten a chance already, do check out the rest of Anu Malik songs that I've posted on here. Some are a bit silly or so you may find, but they're pretty cool, I feel. :)

Thank you Kanan.. I liked one of the Kareeb songs a bit, though not the other ones much. Also, the "Woh Lamhe" song is actually created by a Pakistani group (Jal), so can really give Anu credit only for "getting inspired" by Jal.

Java, thanks for the info. I didn't know about Jal. That "getting inspired" bit was funny as it reminded me of Asha Bhosle's interview/show where she said that back in the old days they'd go and listen to other musicians and singers to "get inspired" hehe ;) I do like Anu Malik's music though for some reason.
